Talents Anyone?

Moonbeam said...
My husband son and I were talking about talented people and I asked my son "what are your special talents?". Without hesitation he listed off 6 things very proudly. What's the wonder in that? Well I meet and spend time with many people who are very talented in many things yet they do not acknowledge or express pride in their talents. I think we should all look in the mirror and say "I'm good at whatever it is" until it becomes comfortable to acknowledge our strengths and special talents. After all a gift is not a gift until it is shared.

ps. I believe one of my greatest gifts is empathy. It has given me an advantage in many of my greatest accomplishments...funny some people would look at it as a weakness.

Hmm, I guess some people grow up only really hearing about it when they do something wrong, and not hearing that they've done good too often, so they don't know how to recognize or admit to being good at something. Makes me realize that maybe I should say more to my kids about how wonderful they are and make sure they recognize their talents. Thanks for reminding me!
