Won-a-days - May 25, 2006

I am sure I wrote that last post on Wednesday, not Thursday. It says I wrote it at 12:13am, I'm quite sure I was fast asleep at 12:13 am. I guess that's what I get for playing with the settings on my blog.

Oh well, it was an interesting day. I actually spent some time thinking about obedience, mostly obeying your conscience. I think that is the most important thing. Often it is easier to not listen to that little voice saying "why are you doing this?" or "you know that's not the right thing to do!". I think when ever we take the "high road" we are practicing obedience at the highest level possible. I can tell you from experience the "high road" is often the most difficult path to travel, I can also tell you the "high road" is often the path to the greatest rewards.

So on a lighter note, today I looked at faces and found many wonderful things. I think the thing I like about faces the most are the lines around the eyes. They seem to tell stories like the lines of a play. Sometimes they are happy, sometimes they are sad and sometimes it's a story that you just don't get. Most importantly these lines are the lines of character. They are not scars of aging, they are trophy's of triumph, laughter, tears and defeat. I'll never understand the desire to remove our trophy's and wipe out our history to me it is actually quite unnatural. There is nothing more beautiful than a community elder proud to state their years.
