It seems that every time I try to express myself in front of this one group I feel like an idiot. Today I did it again. I think maybe I'll stick to writing from now on, anyway what I wanted to say was something like this.........When I spend time reflecting on those whom I admire and am inspired by it is very evident that they are far from perfect. I however, often find myself to be unforgiving of myself when I do not achieve at the highest level in most things I take on. The talk that had me looking at these two things in contrast made me realize that I deserve the same level of compassion in my errors that those I admire and am inspired by receive from me. It also made me realize that our imperfections no matter how big do not negate the wonders we create.
So why does this matter? Think about it "fall from grace", "nose dive", "hit rock bottom", "in the gutter", these are a few of the many phrases that can be used to describe a person who was once admired and inspired but faltered and showed the world their imperfections. Wow!, that's one tough audience we face every day.
