After watching shadows yesterday, today I tried to notice things I wouldn't normally notice. The first thing that stood out was a crow. Certainly not my favourite creature, but actually quite interesting to watch especially with all of the nuts falling from our nut trees. These creatures are smart and I believe they use tools in an odd sort of way. Isn't that supposed to be special to mankind? Anyway they pick up a nut, fly very high, drop it to the pavement of the street and then dive down to see if the impact cracked it. If not off they go again with the same nut and they will continue in this manner until the nut is cracked. Pretty amazing.
