Lessons I learned or re-learned today
- I still think it is fun to get greasy and dirty working on a car
- I still love that greasy automotive shop smell, it brings back wonderful memories
- When you let a hydraulic jack down ensure your fingers are clear
- If you are removing a transmission the hardest part might be putting it back in
- If you use wood to wedge the engine when putting the transmission in keep an eye on where the wood lands it could be what stops things from going smoothly later
- If you do find a piece of wood wedged between the engine and the transmission after many attempts to get them together laugh loudly and mean it
- And most importantly, if you are under a car working with your partner ensure your sense of humor is in tact, it can be a great way to spend some fun time together even when things don't go as planned
